Without being a scientist, one can learn the approach of science. Without digging an old deserted mound, one can have the intelect of an archaeologiost. In the same vein, I can address my pre-diwali article to the beautiful gathering here to express just waht now passes through my mind. Yesterday night I submitted a thoroughly  researched article centering around Gandhi. Exhausted, as I was,  I begin today on a high note of happiness. It is the season of festivals in India for the Hindus.
As I look back at the various TV headlines for last few weeks, I have come on a dead end of my search for human roots.
I have lots of questions, which most of the articles fail to satisfy my lust for the final truth - about the root.
A few points are gathering in my mind
1. The Pagan festivals are also in the Sept-Nov period.
2. Two ancient festivals of Brazil and Mexico just began one week before Navaratri.
3. The American festival for celebrating the Ghosts (Halloween) also happen in near time.
4.Islam's Ramzaan festival simultaneously follow around Navaratri.
5. As these festivals come to an end, the Christian festivity begins.

But why the dates of all the major festivities across the globe cluster in this period of a calendar. I am searching for an answer.
Some reserchers say when human became heavily depended on crop harvest and became a farmer community, the festivals were timed to the arrival of harvest season. Yes, there are a few ceremonies linked to that. But that does not provide me with an answer why different cultures in different corners having dissimilar seasonal cycle have festivities in a particular calendar zone. Only logical hint that I can derive is that all these people came up on earth at a common location. Stayed together for long - developed all the common recreational outlets and created customs and conventions. Then the community expanded, and in search of better living, the groups migrated to better locations, but aalso carried the customs with them. In course of time, with change in climate and man's equation with local nature, its customs got adopted to changing environment.
Even much later, when the religions were conceived in the form of various book of wisdom, the choice of celebration time remained more or less unchanged owing to customs.
Perhaps, that can only explain the commonality of time of festival of most of the people.
Here I collect a few site photos of various ancient civilizations spread across the earth. Discover the commonality  of roots of living and how life evolved differently to suit the surrounding environment, although the intrinsic zest for self discovery remain central to human living and its continuity. Now watch and enjoy the treasures of earth.
